Skylark July 2026 Release – Advanced Competencies

The July 2026 Release went live on Friday 31st July, introducing Advanced Competencies, asset tracking for turbines, and a range of usability improvements across the Skylark Web Portal.

Action required for mobile users: most users will need to update the Skylark mobile app to continue accessing Skylark. If you haven't enabled automatic updates, please update manually through your device's app store — the new version is now available.

Advanced Competencies: a structured competency model replaces the previous high-level list. Competencies are organised into General Site and Turbine types, with turbine competencies qualified by manufacturer, model and rating. New Competency Cards show each competency's status and required action at a glance. Site teams can approve or reject competencies per site, pre-approve during invite, and request supporting evidence from workers by email. Authorised Technicians can now perform the work of Competent Technicians.

Asset tracking: Skylark now records each asset's manufacturer, model, rating and location, and uses these details to pre-select the required competencies when a Work Order is created. Work Orders can also be created directly from a Procedure.
Usability: cleaner screens, at-a-glance competency summaries on the Site Workers view, separate Workflow inboxes for daily tasks, fewer steps in Work Order creation, and faster search.

Platform: a new Authorising Officer role and additional competency-management controls, plus performance and security improvements.

No other action required. Existing competencies, procedures and work orders were migrated automatically. Customers needing additional transition support have been contacted directly.
